What is a Profit Pulling Platform?
As I said in my last post I am starting at square one and going back through the training modules for Alex Jeffreys coaching program. I let my day time job overwhelm me for a while there and stopped my internet marking efforts. I decided the best thing to do is to start over, re-listen to all of my training, take lots of notes and start blogging.
The first module is all about planning and keeping on top of your business. You have to have a plan. I won’t go into detail on this module since I posted about them early on. Here they are if you missed them:
Every Successful Online Business Starts With A Plan
K.O.T.O.B.O.T – huh?
Alex’s second module goes into setting up a sales funnel or what he calls a profit pulling platform.
A profit pulling platform is a series of webpages that become your sales funnel. This funnel will have multiple ways to make you money.
Here is an example below of what a profit pulling platform would look like:
You start by sending traffic to your squeeze page. When they get to your squeeze page they only have two options. 1) enter their name and email to get the free ebook, or 2) close the page. (of course, we all hope for number 1!)
Once they opt into your mailing list you send them to the download page where they will be made an offer, or up-sell. They can either choose to take the upsell or download your free ebook.
If you make money on the up-sell, great, but if not, that is ok too. Alex emphasizes that THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is building your mailing list.
Also, your free ebook will have mater resale rights so that it can be given away freely. Since it is full of links back to your website you can create even more traffic.
A website alone won’t make money. You can’t just throw up a website and expect to start rolling in the cash. You need to have the business behind the website. You have to have faith in the system.

We’re all living in the fast lane so much that we rarely go back. Most people would skim through a training program, never put it to use and move on.
I feel AJ’s training was superb and I think your coming back to it is a great way to get focused, weed out all the clutter and just get going.
And it shows. This is an excellent post and I love the drawing. You’ve basically put the blueprint of a super successful online business in one pic.
Love it.
Keep up the excellent posts
Thanks Gil, I really appreciate that. Yes, Alex’s course was great. When I signed up for it I told my self I had to follow through and take action on what I learned. I need to work on weeding out the clutter! Take Care – Heidi
Hi Heidi
I think you’ve made the right choice in coming back and starting again at the beginning. I’m sure you’ll agree that without the Forward to Basics module finished, understood and acted upon, the rest would be very difficult to achieve.
The blog’s looking great Heidi – maybe we could do an adswap in the near future (got to build my list a bit first though).
Keep up the great work and don’t stop pushing that boulder up the hill!
Onwards & Upwards,
Cliff

Hi Cliff – Yes, let’s plan on doing an adswap! I am working on my list too. My goal is to have 500 subscribers by the end of February. I need to get a move on it.
Thanks, Heidi
Hello Heidi,
Way to go in getting back in the game. I understand the challenges and obstacles of life. My focus is to achieve $500k with both my full time job and internet marketing.
You have an advantage of having a partner with the same passion and goals. There is a husband and wife team in the business doing very well – Melford & Concetta Bibens from West Florida.
To our success….
Richard
Thanks, Richard! Yes, I’m jumping back into the water and going through AJ’s course beginning to end.
Are you talking about Marcus? (He’s the other Passey in the program) We just happened to have the last name actually. He’s in the UK I think and I’m in the states. It’s a small world though because I haven’t met that many Passey’s.
Take Care – Heidi
Thanks for clearing that up, small world. Let’s both have a great 2010!
Hey Heidi,
Good on ye for coming back. it’s a good idea that you are going back over the course because you will be able to understand the content a lot better, to be honest i could do with going over it again myself.
Anyway welcome back and good luck in the future.
I’ll be back to see how you are doing.
Take care,
Nick

Hi Nick, Thanks! My first time around I think I spent too much time setting up my blog. This time I’m focusing on everything beyond that.
I’d be over the moon Heidi if i were to have 500 subscribers by the end of Feb.At the moment, my list stands at *8*!
Still, that’s 8 more than i had 10 days ago
500 by the end of February it is then.
Wish me luck….

We can do it! Now I just need to get on my free ebooks for giveaways asap. =)
Hey Heidi
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your comment.
I did Alex’s first coaching course and I still go back over the material.
But at least each time there isn’t so much information overload and it does become easier to implement the actions needed.
At one point I had to scrub my list of 200 subsrcibers and start again…ouch that was hard but necessary!
Best wishes
Doug
Hi Heidi, want to thank you for being an action taker and for also being one who is willing to share everything you do as you do it.
I create ecover designs and was part of Alex’s first set of students. I want to give you a free ecover for your first book if you haven’t already did one so just email me and let me know.
I remember where I started from and it’s nice to give back. Hope to hear from you soon as I have no doubt you will achieve your goals simply because you are breaking them down into daily tasks.

Hi Michael – Yes, I would love for you to create an ebook cover for me. That would be wonderful =) I’m still trying to work out what my ebook will be on, but I have a few ideas. Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
Hello Heidi
Sometimes going back over things refreshes the mind.
I found starting a folder with different sections in there has helped me. I was getting mind overload trying to learn it all to quick.
But when you look back It’s amazing how much you do take on board.
Planning a weekly task is so Important, and has help me not waisting time.
Thanks
Dean

Hi Dean – yes, I can already tell where planning my weekly tasks helps. Other wise I sit down that the computer and jump from thing to thing to thing without actually getting anything accomplished. I just wish I had more time. (don’t we all? LOL) Thanks, Heidi
