What is a Profit Pulling Platform?

As I said in my last post I am starting at square one and going back through the training modules for Alex Jeffreys coaching program. I let my day time job overwhelm me for a while there and stopped my internet marking efforts. I decided the best thing to do is to start over, re-listen to all of my training, take lots of notes and start blogging.

The first module is all about planning and keeping on top of your business. You have to have a plan. I won’t go into detail on this module since I posted about them early on. Here they are if you missed them:

Every Successful Online Business Starts With A Plan

K.O.T.O.B.O.T – huh?

Alex’s second module goes into setting up a sales funnel or what he calls a profit pulling platform.

A profit pulling platform is a series of webpages that become your sales funnel. This funnel will have multiple ways to make you money.

Here is an example below of what a profit pulling platform would look like:

Profit Pulling PlatformYou start by sending traffic to your squeeze page. When they get to your squeeze page they only have two options. 1) enter their name and email to get the free ebook, or 2) close the page. (of course, we all hope for number 1!)

Once they opt into your mailing list you send them to the download page where they will be made an offer, or up-sell. They can either choose to take the upsell or download your free ebook.

If you make money on the up-sell, great, but if not, that is ok too. Alex emphasizes that THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is building your mailing list.

Also, your free ebook will have mater resale rights so that it can be given away freely. Since it is full of links back to your website you can create even more traffic.

A website alone won’t make money. You can’t just throw up a website and expect to start rolling in the cash. You need to have the business behind the website. You have to have faith in the system.

What Happened To Heidi?

Man, it has been a long time since I have posted anything. No… I didn’t drop off the side of the earth, although it felt like it for awhile there.

I was about  3/4 of the way through Alex Jeffreys training program when my day job picked up. Unfortunately, they decided they needed to realign positions and made some HUGE layoffs. Yes, as everyone tells me, I’m one of the lucky ones that I was not laid off. The only thing is that everyone that stayed had to take on a ton of extra responsibilities.

I had to take on some extra accounts, at least until they figured out who was going to be doing what after the layoffs. From about September through November I was so extremely stressed at work I was pretty much a vegetable when I got home.

I don’t think I have ever been so stressed out. It seemed that everything, everyday was urgent and I was constantly rushing to get this done, to get this done, to get this done. Then I got a laptop so I could work from home if needed… Well, that just meant I was checking emails the second I got up in the morning and then everynight before going to sleep. It seemed like I lived, breathed and dreamed about my work. I was so stressed that it felt like my heart was racing 24/7.

You would think that would motivate me even more to get my online business growing, but I was just so exhausted from it all. Things have started to calm down a little, but I’m struggling with getting back into the swing of things with my online work. I’m back to feeling overwhelmed because there are so many things I feel like I should be working on.

So what am I doing now? Well, I am going to go back through all of my training from Alex Jeffreys course and start from square one.

My boyfriend and I started a new workout program as of the New Year and I signed up to be an affiliate for the program. I thought, what better product to blog about and promote than one I’m going through myself. One, it will force me to be accountable and I’ll have plenty to share on my blog because I’ll be experiencing it from start to finish. I’m going to use what I learn from Alex Jeffreys course to get it set up, drive traffic to it and build a list.

Now more than ever I want to do internet marketing full time. I don’t ever want to get as stressed as I was during those few months at my day job. It seriously drained the life out me and I was really unhappy. I even thought about finding a new job, but this is what I really want to do. It would be silly to start out at a new job. What I need to do is really focus on my online business so that I can quit the 9 – 5 routine completely.

Anyhow, I plan to post more regularly again so you should see more of me from here on out.

I would LOVE to hear how other people manage their online businesses with full time jobs.

Please leave a comment and share how you re-focus yourself after getting home from an exhausting day?
